Perfume Genius or Michael Alden Hadreas, a native of Iowa, United States of America, addresses in his songs themes such as sexuality, his fight against Crohn's disease and the dangers faced in contemporary society. He has already recorded six studio albums, the first - Learning - was released in 2010 and it was through this that he established an unbreakable connection with his listeners, even when he decided to move forward with a more vibrant sound in Too Bright (2014). This was followed by No Shape (2017), Set My Heart On Fire Immediately (2020), Ugly Season (2022) and now, in 2025, the long-awaited Glory, due for release at the end of March. The latter has an immaculate surface and a tender, agitated interior. According to Hadreas, the central focus of the record is “the back and forth between the internal and the external”, and for this project the artist has discovered a new composition process by embracing a group dynamic.
