In November 2016 King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard promised five albums in 2017. Not only did they do it, with “Gumboot Soup” being released on December 31st of last year, as there are already rumours that a new album might be on the way.

Although the sound of the band takes you to the psychedelic explosion of the 60s, the King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard can expand that sonority to a rock experimentation and the result, although always unpredictable, is also always accurate. Fed up of earing people tell new bands what to do or not do, and committed to fighting this stigma by doing whatever they want, the band emerged in 2011 and began to become known for their prolific discography. In six years, 13 albums were released. The first, "12 Bar Bruise", of 2012, saw his successor appear only five months later. Two new works followed in 2013 and, working fast, two more in 2015. Next year, there was time for "Nonagon Infinity." After the release, the group had time for thunderous live performances and also to record the five albums launched in 2017.

But the energy of the King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard goes beyond their recordinfs. Powerful performances make each concert an unrepeatable experience. It is easy to surrender to the eccentricity of these seven Australians and their very peculiar passion for music. A contagious energy coming directly from those who are the ultimate exponent of the current psych music to see, and feel, at the 26th edition of Vodafone Paredes de Coura.
