Glockenwise were formed in Barcelos, where the idea of going through life with the desire to make music - or any other art for that matter - was, even in the 2000s, relatively exotic. Forged in the non-conformist energy of punk, they have always been punctuated by a characteristic melancholy that has served as a guiding thread to their present sound identity, and which has been demarcating them from more obvious classifications. 

Gótico Português is, if not a return, an appreciative look. There is a Portugal teeming on the shore, abundant in interesting and bizarre cultural manifestations, rich and diverse in visual and oral traditions. Oneiric, creative and surprising. There is a forgotten Portugal on the fringes, thirsty for representation but obstinate, striving to inventively fill the void left by material, cultural and metaphysical deficiencies. In his repertoire we can hear themes about the identity of those in the middle distance, divided between the margin and the center, written for times of uncertainty, which require even more songs.
