A combination of shoegaze with cathartic grunge is what defines the sound of DIIV. The passion that Brooklyn-born Zachary Cole Smith developed for the guitar led him to begin his musical journey with Soft Black’s psych-rock and later to discover shoegaze with Beach Fossils. Smith formed DIIV in 2011 as an identity and released the first album "Oshin" in 2012. After a hectic departure, he began writing material for a new album and the result was about 150 new tracks that eventually gave rise to "Is the Is Are" in 2016. Where "Oshin" was meditative and static the latest work goes further, in a sound that is a trip to places with multiple textures and fanciful environments. Highly request by the fan base, DIIV arrive at Fluvial Beach of Taboão, the only European date known for this year, to show a unique and special post punk.
