BLACK COUNTRY, NEW ROAD
BLACK COUNTRY,
NEW ROAD
2025

The multifaceted post-punk group from Cambridgeshire (United Kingdom), made up of Luke Mark, Lewis Evans, Georgia Ellery, May Kershaw, Tyler Hyde and Charlie Wayne, combines disparate genres such as jazz, math rock and klezmer to compose long melodies that alternate between calm moments and peaks of intensity. Black Country, New Road debuted in 2021 with the album For the first time, nominated for a Mercury Prize, and in 2022 they released Ants From Up There. These two projects featured vocalist Isaac Wood who, after the completion of the second, left the band and now this role is shared by Luke, May and Tyler. After the great success of Ants From Up There they then began work on what would become their third album, Live at Bush Hall (2023), recorded live over three nights, from which emerged the most atypical concert documentary, and yet it is as cohesive a statement as any other record in the band's discography.
